Igor Correa Luna

Igor Correa Luna was born the December 12th 1919 in Uruguay with Montevideo, of an Uruguyan father violoncellist and leader, and of a French mother restorer.
He emigrated in France at the eight years age.
Since 1937, Igor Correa learned and taught the Judo before founding and teaching the Ju No Michi, that is to say the original judo. It reached the rank of 8th daN of it.
He was chief technical officer of 1974 to 2000 of Autonomous the France Federation of Ju No Michi (FFAJ).
After more than 60 years of practice and diffusion of the art founded by Jigoro Kano, Igor Correa is deceased in its Parisian residence the October 12th 2000.
Following a series of talks being held between on June 23rd and on September 28th, 2000, a book was published. It contains a history of the practice of Igor Correa, it explains the principles which form the base of Ju No Michi (like the not-opposition, control, dodging, the decision) and approaches some elements of practice (concept of dojo, of kata…).
