Goulven ( Breton Goulc' hen in ) is a common department of the Finistere, in the area Brittany, in France.
History
The parish of Goulven belonged to the archidiaconé of concerning Kemenet-Ily évêché of Leon and was under the term of holy Goulven. It is resulting from a dismemberment of the primitive parish of Plouider.

Fountain of Goulven saint
Saint Goulven had just been born shortly after the unloading from his/her parents on the close shore. Completely stripped, not finding a water drop to seal the thirst for the mother and the child, Glaudan the father called upon God. At once in this place a source spouts out where a fountain was built.This monument Renaissance style was surrounded by a square enclosure on which are laid out of the granite benches for the pilgrims and patients. Inside the left side wall, a sarcophagus is embedded which passes to have been the bed of Goulven saint. The patients extended to it in the hope to be cured. In the wall of the bottom, a formed hive shelters a granite statue of Goulven saint, represented as a bishop of Leon. First Sunday of July, day of the forgiveness, one came in procession to the fountain. Celebrating there the Reliquaire containing plunged a bone of the arm of the saint in order to renew the miraculous and curative virtues water.
