Ignace Foamed Ier Daoud
Ignace Moussa Ier Daoud (born in the village of Meskané, close to the town of Homs in Syria, the September 18th 1930) was primacy of the syriaque Catholic church between the October 13rd 1998 and the January 8th 2001. It carries since the highly skilled title of Patriarche .
He was Préfet of the Congrégation for the Eastern Churches (between the November 25th 2000 and the June 5th 2007). He was the first Eastern one to occupy this station.
He was created and proclaimed cardinal by the pope Jean-Paul II the February 21st 2001.
