Ifex Technologies
LIfex , or Pulse fire extinguisher , invented in 1994 by engineer Frans Steur, is a new technology used in the Lutte against the fire. Using a technology by impulses, Ifex projects a mixture of air and water under pressure at very an high speed, which makes it more effective than the Fire hose in certain types of fires, like those of tires or Hydrocarbure S.
Ifex 3000, the tool pricipal of this technology, exists in 2 different models: out of rifle and gun, but for each one of these models there exist several different versions.
Rifle is enough small to be transported and used with the hand. A cylinder of compressed air and one of water are fixed on a cacolet (12l of water), or on a carriage (water 35l or 55l). To each shooting leave 1 liter water and the compressed air at a pressure of exit of 25 Bar (unit) and a speed of 420 km/h to 720 km/h. The effectiveness is such as less than 10 liters of water can be enough to extinguish a car on fire. The gun is a device of greater scale, intended to be transported and used on a vehicle or a fixed installation. A shooting consumes 12l or 18l water.
Ifex 3000 for also being used for control of crowd by the police force at the time of demonstrations. The system is already in service in certain police services and of prisons of the United Kingdom. ----
