If Djilani

If Djilani (-) was one of the historical leaders of the fight for the independence of the Algérie.

Founding member of the North-African Star (left active 1926 with 1937), If Djilani belongs to its executive team. In 1933, it is named director of the newspaper El-Oumma. After the dissolution of North-African Star in 1937, he becomes member of the political office of the Parti the Algerian people (PPP) of Messali Hadj.

Present in Metropolitan France during the German Occupation (1940-1944), it adheres to the Union North-African workers (UTNA) of the Social front of work (FST), satellite organization of the party popular collaborationnist national Rassemblement (RNP) in the hope to advance the cause of the independence of Algeria.
