Ida Presti , French Guitarist (born with Suresnes 1924, died with Rochester 1967)
Guitarist wonder since his childhood, it met Alexandre Lagoya whereas this one was already a recognized concert performer; they formed together celebrates it duet Presti-Lagoya and started together to traverse the world with a growing success.
During the existence of the duet, of 1950 on 1967, date of the tragedy death of Ida Presti, they met a success growing and were the dedicatees of a very great number of parts of type-setters like André Jolivet - serenade for two guitars, Jean Yves Daniel-Lesur - reduced for two guitars, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco - 24 preludes and runnings away and concerto for two guitars and orchestra, however which they widened the repertory by transcriptions of works baroques and Spanish music. Reached of a lung cancer she dies at the time of a round in the United States in 1967, of a hemorrhage caused by a complication of her disease.
Ida Presti was also Compositrice for her instrument: six studies for guitar, rhythmics , the Hungarian woman for two guitars (homage to Béla Bartók)…
Its discography, in addition to the parts in duet, includes/understands many recordings in solo which, added to the various filmed recordings and the testimony of those having known it reveals an artist and a virtuoso of exception, equipped with an impressive ease of play.
