Ictus unit
Ictus is a whole of Modern music installed since 1994 with Brussels, in the buildings of the Compagnie Rosas of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
Its programming walks on a broad stylistic spectrum (of Georges Aperghis to Steve Reich, of Fausto Romitelli with Tom Waits, of François Sarhan with Riccardo Nova) but each one of its concerts proposes an adventure of coherent listening: concerts sets of themes (the transcription, irony, Drones, Candid Music…), concerts with accompanying notes, scenic productions (operas, radio evenings, song recitals).
Ictus proposes each year, in collaboration with the Palais of the Art schools of Brussels and the Kaaitheater, a series in concerts which meet a large and varied audience. Since 2004, the unit is in parallel in residence with the Opéra of Lille.
Ictus opened to a teaching platform for interpreters (in the forms of workshops) and type-setters (in the form of a two years fellowship) and developed a collection of discs, rich person of about fifteen titles. The majority of the big rooms and the best festivals already accommodated it (Festival Musica of Strasbourg, Witten, Brooklyn Academy off Music, Festival of autumn in Paris, Ars Musica Brussels, Royaumont, Milano Musica, Wien Modern…).
