Ichtyosarcotoxism
The Ichtyosarcotoxisme indicates the Intoxication S due to the ingestion of Toxine S contained in the flesh, the skin and the internal organs of Poisson. This term is resulting from the Greek : ichtyos for fish, sarcos for flesh and toxicon for Poison.
These intoxications are known are two principal forms:
- most known and most frequent is certainly the Ciguatera, due to the usually edible fish ingestion of reefs.
- the fugu or Tétrodotoxisme is with the consumption of Tétrodon S. Toxique, the fugu can be made edible after a preparation of which some Japanese cooks have the secrecy.
