Icelandic horsemanship

The Icelandic horsemanship is practiced with a Icelandic Cheval.

The characteristic of this small horse of north, is its five paces. Indeed, in addition to the three traditional paces of the ordinary Horse, namely the not, the trot and the gallop, the majority of the Icelandic horses have two additional paces: the Tölt and the Pace of race.

The tölt is the fourth pace of the Icelandic horse: pace at four very comfortable times for the rider.

Fifth pace of the Icelandic horse, the pace of race is a side pace at two times. Very fast and testing for the horse, it is practiced only on short distances such as for example on an oval track in contest of pace or straight line for the race of pace on a hundred meters approximately.
