The company Ibex Energy directed by the French businessman Jean Paul Cayre. It was in the center of the French shutter of the Affaire oil against food, immense operation of skirting of the embargo of UNO on Iraqi oil.

The business of Essex

Ibex Energy would have taken part in a fraud relating to 500.000 barrels of petrol Iraqi, in 2001, in partnership with the company of broking Trafigura. Oil had been charged of surplus on board the supertanker Essex. Essex was intercepted by the American authorities off the Antilles.

May 25th, 2006, in front of the court of Houston (Texas), Trafigura pled guilty and admitted having violated the American federal law and the embargo of the United Nations within the framework of the program “Oil against food”.
