Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España

Iberia (Code AITA: IB ; Code ICAO: IBE ) is a Spanish Airline company (the principal one in Spain and one of largest in Europe).

Its official name is " Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España" , S.A. (sometimes shortened in Iberia L.A.E.).

It was born from the fusion of Iberia with Aviación there Comercio, S.A. (Aviaco) which took place in 1999. But Iberia celebrated in 2002, the 75e birthday of its creation which dates from the June 28th 1927 (with the first flights in December of the same year).

In July 2004, Iberia announced that it had decided to move its Plateforme of correspondence for the Latin America of Miami to San Pedro Sula with the Honduras.

Iberia announces to transport 13 million passengers each year, of which more half (6.8 Million) on the interior market. The remainder is composed of the average mails towards Europe (4 Million) and Africa, and of the long-distance flights (Internet site of the company, June 2007).

It belongs to air alliance Oneworld of which also make part American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific or Qantas.
