Ibadan

Ibadan is the Capitale and main city of the state of Oyo, in the western south of the Nigeria. After Lagos and Kano, it is the third more important city of the country.
History
Ibadan is founded by the Yoruba in 1750, and becomes a military command center in 1829. In 1893, the city passes under British domination inside the Protectorat of the delta of Niger. Ibadan is more the big city of West Africa during the major part of the 20th century. In 1948 the first university of Nigeria, the University of Ibadan, is created as a branch of the Université of London.
