Ibón
Ibón is the term Aragonese for the small lakes of glacial mountain of origin of the the Pyrenees, generally above 2.000 Mr. They are for much of them at the origin or the source of the rivers of Aragon.
Étymologiquement, the word ibon comes with near certainty from the term Basque ibai (river), and indicated at the origin of the bubbling sources. When the ground where the source is forms a tank, this water forms a lake of large or small size according to the morphological characteristics of the site.
One counts a total of 94 ibones of sizes and very different forms; some of them are used to feed from the small power stations hydroélectriques.
There exists, according to the local legends, of the ibones enchanted, where lives fairies, like that of
Plan.
The ibones of Anayet, of Sabocos, IP or Estanés are most known.
