Iaroslav the Wise one

Iaroslav Vladimirovitch (ЯрославВладимирович), known as Iaroslav the Wise one (ЯрославМудрый) is the son of Vladimir I {{er}}.
Born in 978, he is initially prince of Novgorod. After the death of his/her father in 1015, it must initially fight against his/her cousin Sviatopolk I {{er}}, supported by the Poland but he became large-prince of Kiev in 1019 after his victory, putting an end to the civil war within the Rus' of Kiev.
He marries then a girl of the king de Suède Olof Skötkonung, Ingigerd. He is the father of Anne which will become queen of France in 1051 after its marriage with the king Henri I {{er}}, of Anastasia, wife of André I {{er}}, king of Hungary and Elizabeth, married to Harald III, king of Norway.
In 1036, a great victory of the Russians eliminates the sempiternal threat from the Petchenègues. On the other hand, a forwarding launched against the Byzantine Empire in 1043 by his/her oldest son will turn to the disaster.
Large builder and legislator, it obtained Byzantine that Kiev becomes the seat of a métropolite ruthene (of Rus'). With its death the February 20th 1054, its inheritance is divided between its 5 surviving sons of which three will succeed to him like Grand princes de Kiev:

- Vladimir, prince de Novgorod of 1036 with its death in 1052. It made build the Cathédrale Holy-Sophie de Novgorod, chief of work of Russian medieval architecture.

- Sviatoslav II, prince of Tchernihiv of 1054 to 1073
- Vsevolod Ier, prince of Pereislav of 1054 to 1073
