Ian Wright

Ian Wright was born the November 3rd 1963 with Woolwich, city of the district of Greenwich located in the Large London (). Old Football professional or, it evolved/moved at the station of attacker and was international English. Member of Order of the British Empire (MBE). He is the adoptive father of Shaun Wright-Philips and the natural father of Bradley Wright-Philips, both professional players. Its third Brett wire tries to follow the trace of the two elder ones. In 1993 Ian Wright marries Debbie Martin with which it will have two other children, Stacey and Bobbi Lee.

Biography

Youth

After having seen his candidature rejected by Millwall the young person Ian Wright begins football in 1981 in Ten EM Bee, club amateur taking part in London and Kent Border League. In 1985 it is located by Peter Prentice, recruiter of the Crystal De luxe hotel FC, which invites it to pass a test to Selhurst Park.

Wright is then recruited by the Celtic of Glasgow following the wound of their attacker Henrik Larsson. Taken in February 2000 by Burnley FC, Ian Wright puts a term at its professional path in May in spite of the insistence of the trainer Stan Ternent, whereas the club is on the point of going up in the second division. It disputed its last match on May 6th, 2000 vis-a-vis Scunthorpe.

National team

December 12th, 1989 Ian Wright disputes its first international match for the team of England B vis-a-vis the Yugoslavia B. It evolves/moves at the sides of its future fellow-members Andy Linighan, Lee Dixon and Tony Adams. It will again be retained in selection B to face the Algérie with Algiers on December 11th, 1990 and the team of France B with Loftus Road on February 18th, 1992.

February 6th, 1991 Graham Taylor offers to Ian Wright, then 27 years old, its first selection has at the time of a friendly match vis-a-vis the Cameroun with Wembley. It is not retained in the team sent to the Euro 92, but defends the colors of England at the time of the qualifications for the World cup 1994, registering a goal on May 29th, 1993 in the last minutes of the match vis-a-vis the Poland (1 to 1), then a quadruplet on November 17th, 1993 with Bologna vis-a-vis San Marin in a match gained 7 to 1 by English. Despite everything England does not manage to qualify itself. Wright will dispute four more friendly matches with the national team directed by Terry Venables in 1994, but will not be called for the Euro 96.

Glenn Hoddle calls again upon Ian Wright at the time of the qualifications for the World cup 1998. Wright finds the way of the nets on May 24th, 1997 with Old Trafford at the time of a friendly match vis-a-vis the South Africa, then on May 31st and on September 10th at the time of the victories obtained in match qualifier at the expense respectively of the Poland and the Moldavie. It also marks on June 4th with the Stade of Beaujoire against Italy in the friendly Tournament of France gained by England.

A wound prevents it from taking part in the World cup 1998. It will dispute two more matches under the colors of England, the last taking place with Wembley on November 18th, 1998 at the time of victory 2 to 0 vis-a-vis the Czech Republic.

Career in the media

Ian Wright was reconverted into the media and animated several television programs since 1998. For its emission Friday Night' S All Wright , diffused on the station London Weekend Television (LWT), belonging to the group ITV, it received inter alia Elton John, Will Smith and Denzel Washington. The emission This Is Your Life devoted to Ian Wright on January 24th, 2000 on BBC One attracted 9,6 million televiewers according to the chain. In January 2001 it signs one two years duration an exclusive contract with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), taken back for two New Year's Days on December 11th, 2002.

It took share with the emission Match off the Day presented by Gary Lineker during the Championship of Europe of Football 2004. For station BBC Radio operator Five Live it took part in a weekly emission in company of Mark Bright, its former fellow-member with Crystal De luxe hotel. It currently animates The Ian Wright Show .

Charitable actions

Since 1997 Ian Wright engages near association African Caribbean Leukemia Trust (ACLT) in company of the duchess of York and the former footballers John Barnes and John Fashanu, in order to fight against the Leucémie S by recruiting donors of osseous Moelle in the black community, the ethnic origin being important in the search for eligible donors.

In 2002 it is named Personality Media off the Year at the time of the 10th edition of the Race In the Media Awards (RIMA), created in 1992 by the British Commission on the racial equality.
