Ian Hainsworth

Ian Hainsworth is the name of a fictitious character of the serial Desperate Housewives , played by Dougray Scott.

History of the character

At the beginning of the third season, Ian seems a depressive man since his wife, Jane, fell into the Coma following an accident from horse. It is a rich person editor of Britannique origin. It recontre Susan Mayer at the hospital, fascinating care of Mike Delfino, itself in the coma. It is quickly under the charm of Susan, whose personality brings cheerfulness in this difficult test to him. After many meetings and as Mike remained in the coma, just like Jane, Susan and Ian benefitted from one weekend to the mountain during which they slept together and this, before Susan does not learn that Mike was awaked.

However, Susan broke with Mike, following handling of Edie Britt which benefitted from its amnesia. Susan turned over then with Ian and although their relation is animated, they remained together. When Mike was stopped for the murder of Monique Pollier, Ian decided to engage a large lawyer for him, in the condition that Susan does not see it any more.

Later, the state of Jane worsened and Ian, in business trip, wanted to visit him last. However, he learned, during the way of the plane, that Jane was going to die before it arrives at the hospital. Wishing to speak last once to him, Susan decided to approach compound of the cellphone close to the ear of Jane so that she hears what Ian had to say. After the death of Jane, Ian required Susan in marriage during the evening of opening of the Scavo pizzeria, although he is coveted for his charm and his fortune by other women. But Mike gradually reminds her relation with Suzan and decides to reconquer it. Susan, as for it, cannot drive back any more its feelings for this last and Ian suspects it. After attempts failed with an aim of recovering it, it took the initiative of the rupture and left the country to join the England.

Anecdotes

Ian had, at the origin, to be called Ian Kavanaugh.
