Ian Call

(1890-1985)

Workman of the shipyards, it adheres to the SPD in 1908. He is related on the “Links radikalen” or “radical lefts” during the war and to the Spartakistes. After the war he is member of the KPD (Communist party of Germany) where he is one of the principal organizers in Hamburg. He becomes president of the “revolutionary right-hand men”. He attends the Congress of Heidelberg of the KPD in October 1919 as delegated of Hamburg. He takes part in the revolutionary combat of the Ruhr and becomes member of KAPD (working Communist party of Germany) as of his foundation.

In July - August 1920, it is sent with Jung by party (KAPD) in Russia for the second congress of the IC. It can arrive at Moscow only by diverting a trawler. It is responsible for the weekly magazine of the AAU (working Union) in the Ruhr. In 1921, he regards as premature the foundation of the Internationale working Communist (KAI) or IV° Internationale.

During the years 1923-1925, he is imprisoned for the diversion of the trawler. From 1926, it settles in Holland, where it takes part in the Groupe of the Communists internationalists (GIC). He is the principal writer of the Basic principles of the production and the communist distribution , a reflection on the economic measures of the transitional period between capitalism and Communism (publication 1930). After 1933, it passes in clandestinity until 1945. He denounces the war imperialists and takes to the position classicist and traditional internationalists: not to support any State imperialist (the USSR included/understood).

After the war it adheres to the Spartakusbond Canne Meijer and Cajo Brendel. In 1975, it takes part in the first congress of the international communist Running.
