IV My People

IV My People is a collective and label of French Rap created by Kool Shen (member of the 93 NTM) in 1999.

This collective saw passing under its wing Busta Flex, Zoxea or Lord Kossity which still poses on refrains in Featuring for its beginnings…

Today the label is composed of Kool Shen, of the " group; Serum" (Alicide H & Dany Boss), Salif & EXS (of the Nysay group) and more recently Jeff the Nerve, the Specialists (Princess Aniès and Tepa), American Toy and Merlin TO the Mic (hidden side of Serum). The IV my peep' S already left several mixtapes and streets albums like 3 albums ( Certifié conforms and IV my people Zone , IV my people mission ). Their 3rd opus, left in November 2005 is called: IV my people mission .

The Productions are ensured by both large Madizm and Sec Undo, authors of the 3 mixtapes IV my peep' S " Streetly Street" .

History of the label

It is not necessary any more to point out the course of Kool Shen, one of the founding members of the Suprême NTM, group in 10 years of career having defrayed the chronicle and fidélisé the whole of its public, become massive.

In 1997, Kool Shen meets Busta Flex; the power is on and Shen then decides to realize, under cover of WEA Music, the album éponyme of Busta (left in 1998), gold disc to date. From this 1st album carried out, are born from new affinities in particular with Zoxea (which also signs at WEA), it decides to carry out the album solo (“has my turn to shine” - February 1999).

Of these achievements creates for itself a new logo, a kind of trademark: IV My People. In order to mark the event and for their pleasure, Kool Shen, Zoxea, Busta Flex (like Lord Kossity and Joey Starr in guests) record individual having marked the summer 1998. The title names quite simply “IV My People” (70 000 specimens sold in limited edition).

IV My People is transformed naturally into a collective which it is possible to find into live at the time of the “93 Parties” and of the “NTM Tour” (1998) and a little later with “IV My People Party” (1999).

The meetings still follow one another, of the emotional ties and artistic create for themselves and increase the collective formed by Kool Shen, which accommodates new young talents: Salif and groups it Serum (Alcide H & Dany Boss). New individual invades the waves, “me happy conceited person Gives” (June 1999), and thus presents the new recruits.

In front of a reception and a growing request of the public, the trademark is transformed naturally into a label. Kool Shen then decides to form its own independent structure, where it will be able to develop, in total osmosis with its young hopes and without intermediary of recording companies, the collective and each artist the component.

At the end of the summer 1999, Busta Flex does not form any more part of the collective. Kool Shen meets Toy in Miami, on the turning of the clip of Zoxea “Y' has that to make”. Its voice impresses it and he then asks him to come to France to record a few pieces. It joined the label.

In November 1999, the exit of a maximum MINOR ROAD 4 titles (own-produced and car-distributed), mark the independence of the label. A little more than two months after its exit, 50.000 specimens are past.

After having signed in distribution at Sony Music, the 1st album of the label IV My People, “Certified” fate conforms on April 25th, 2000. The reception of the public is of size and the album is very quickly gold disc. The 2nd album “IV My People Zone” leaves in 2002 and it will be necessary to wait 3 years for finally hearing again the collective with large complete on “IV My People Mission”.

The departures are connected thereafter: the Specialists and Nysay steal their own wings. The label becomes inactive as from May 2006.

The label files for bankruptcy in the 2007 just like mark 2-high. Today label AZ directed by Valéry Zeitoun has just acquired the catalog of IV My People. Next albums IV MY People/AZ will be the first album of Jeff LeNerf in October 2007, Salif and Kool Shen in 2008

The albums solos

Place aux albums solos of the artists of the label with first of all that of Salif “All together/Every man for himself” in 2001 follow-up by the group Serum (Alcide H & Dany Boss) which leaves in 2003 “One saw as one can”.

In 2002, the label signs the Specialists, group made up of Princess Aniès and Tepa. Their album “Reality Show” leaves in March 2005 and gains a nice success of regard.

They will be then joined in 2005 by the Grenoble-native rappor Jeff the Nerve which leaves its street album in October 2005 and prepares its album for the year 2006.

Lastly, 1st and last album of the boss, Kool Shen leaves on its own label. Artistic success, technological revolution, business success (more than 250.000 sold specimens), " The Round" last; unquestionably the year 2004 marked.

March 2005, Kool Shen announces officially the end of its career solo.

IV My People Mission

“IV MY PEOPLE MISSION” is the 1st project of the collective to being presented since the withdrawal of Kool Shen as an artist. This album completely carried out by Kool Shen presents the whole of the artists of the label except for Toy which prepares its album solo.

Attention, Kool Shen put the high bar on this new collective album. Not kindness and facilities: the import duty for this album is conditioned only by artistic quality of the titles. Kool Shen is demanding, it hates the mediocrity. Sharpened writing and rhymes, prods and flows percussion, depth of the text and irreproachable technique are the only criteria which apply to the boss. The challenge was very exciting for Salif, Jeff the Nerve, Serum (Alcid H & Dany Boss), the Specialists (Princess Aniès & Tepa) whereas Lord Kossity, Sinik, Oxmo Puccino, Lino (Ärsenik) and Roldan (Orishas) also came to lend strong hand. The already hard selection for the MC 'S, became radical for the music. Very eclectic, the label called upon step less than 8 different musical originators to support the rappeurs: Madizm & Sec.Undo, Dr. Swing, F.Ko, Demonstration, Skcred, Tahar, Salif, Track Furnace.

To note all the same, a new of Kool Shen, " Child of the 9.3"

The result is amazing, compact and heavy.
