ISO 9002

The standard ISO 9002 belonged to the standards ISO 9000 of control of the qualité.
One distingait in the field the following standards:

ISO 9003: For the audit processes of quality (final control + tests).
ISO 9004: To supplement.

ISO 9002 was the suitable standard for an organization which did not deal of the design and the development; it did not contain the requirements relating to the control of the design of ISO 9001, the other requirements were identiques.
Cette standard was best adapted for the activities of performances of service, of subcontracting or for the companies of very small taille.
Enfin it allowed certification partial of an establishment or a branch of a entreprise.

ISO 9002 and ISO 9003 were integrated into the recasting of ISO 9001 in 2000 (reference ISO 9001:2000) and do not exist plus.
Indeed, the version 2000 draft of all the processes, of the design to the assistance after sale while passing by the controls and tests, but provides that a company can define exclusions in its Qualité.
Handbook For example, a company which does not make a design and which would have, in the old versions, selected to be made certify ISO 9002, will choose certification ISO 9001 now: 2000 while specifying for example, in its handbook quality: " the scope of application of the quality system covers the whole of the processes except the § 7.3 of the standard " design and développement" for which our company is not concerned ".
