ISO 6709
The international standard ISO 6709 of the International organization of standardization is the standardized representation of the Latitude, Longitude and Altitude for the localization of the geographical points. The order of the elements is the latitude, longitude and altitude.
Formats
The latitude and longitude

the zeros of head are obligatory, as well for the latitude as for longitude
- the decimals for the degrees (1st format above), the minutes (2nd format) and the seconds (3rd format), are optional

Attention: the sign “ + ” indicates is, the sign “ - ” indicates the west (contrary to the notations for the hours, according to the time zones)
Altitude
The representation of altitude is optional. The unit is the Mètre. +mmmm ≥ 0000 - mm < 0000
Termination
If a character of termination is necessary, the character “/” is advised.
