IRWIN
IRWIN is a Slovenien S, mainly of the painter S, founded collective of artists in 1984 and attached to discussed collective of political art Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK) of Slovenia. They describe their own work like “retro-principle” or “retro Avant-garde”
Artists IRWIN never sign individually their work: they rather affix a plug or a certificate, indicating thus that work emanates from IRWIN.
Although these artists are mainly painters, they engaged in many collective works in company of other collectives NSK, passing of the theater to the vidéos musical. In 1992, in collaboration with Michael Benson, they created the performance Black Square one Red Square , in which a black fabric square of 22 side meters was unrolled on the Red Place of Moscow, in homage to Kazimir Malevitch and to the Suprématisme.
One counts among the members of IRWIN: Dusan Mandic, Miran Mohar, Andrej Savski, Romance Uranjek and Borut Vogelnik.
