IBook

The iBook were the portable equivalents of the IMac of Apple. They incarnated the line entry of the portables Apple, the PowerBook S having more a great power, more functionalities (luminous keyboard, entered its, etc).

History

The iBook was launched in July 1999, that is to say approximately a year after the IMac. The first versions had the shape of a round shell (which was worth the nickname of “clams to them”, " clamshell" in English), and the same colors raised that the IMac, they were equipped with a processor PowerPC G3. In May 2001, they passed to a white style, more sober, equipped with a new processor PowerPC G4, and in two sizes: 12 ' and 14 '; they thus evolve/move identically with their big brothers of office. One observes a cycle of 6 months evolution to 1 years; at each exit, the preceding models are withdrawn from the catalogs of the official retailers, and are more available only in large surfaces or on Refurb blind (then at broken prices). The last iBook were equipped with processors 1,33 GHz (12 inches) and 1,42 GHz (14 inches), with a graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon 9550 (32 Mo of dedicated memory) and with 512 Mo of RAM.

Its marketing was stopped the May 16th 2006 at the exit of its successor containing processor Intel, the MacBook
