Hypoacusia
The hypoacusia (in English: hypoacusia , of the Greek hupo : under and akouein : to hear, akousma : hearing) is the medical term indicating a reduction in the auditive acuteness.
One speaks about Surdité in the cases of very important hypoacusia.
The body of hearing consists of an apparatus of perception and of an apparatus of transmission . Two types of hypoacusia thus are described:
- the hypoacusia of perception.
- the hypoacusia of transmission.
The opposite phenomenon of hypoacusia is the Hyperacousie.
