Hyperterrorism

Hyperterrorisme is a recent neologism indicating a type of Terrorisme being characterized at the same time by an objective of massive destruction, and by a technological control making realizable of the destruction with large scales.

Definition of the concept

This term is especially employed in the media since the Attentats of September 11th, 2001, which in answer started a reaction of geopolitical width indicated under the name of Guerre against terrorism.

Since then, the authorities of the information fear to see a Arme of massive destruction or a Bombe salts employed with fine terrorists on urban centres, or a large aircraft carrying civil diverted on a Nuclear plant or a chemical industrial complex.

Criticisms

The concept of hyperterrorism was however criticized.

It would indicate more terrorist acts with the important results, that a using terrorism of the considerable means, and fails to characterize the multitude of very diverse acts perpetrated within the framework of Islamic terrorism. Moreover, whereas certain states would be directly threatened, others could instrumentaliser this threat for reasons of internal policy.
