Hyperion (tree)

Hyperion is the name of a Séquoia to sheets of yew of California of the North, whose size is of 115,55 meters, which makes of it the Arbre living most of the world.

Discovered

It was discovered the September 8th 2006 by the researcher Chris Atkins and the naturalist amateur Michael Taylor, in a moved back zone of the National park of Redwood, bought in 1978, under the administration Carter. The exact site of the tree was not made public, for fear a tourist surge destroys the ecosystem in which the tree lives.

Anecdote

  • Of the researchers declared that damage at its top, which had with Pivert S, prevented the tree from reaching the size of 115,8 m
