Hyper articles in line is an open file allowing the Enquiring S to deposit their manuscripts on the basis with open Accès of the Center for the direct scientific paper (CCSD) of CNRS. This initiative relates to all the disciplines, but the articles, whose scientific level is checked, are not evaluated. This tool thus comes in complement from publications in reviews at reading panel.

HALL is the common platform of open file chosen by the French establishments of research, the universities, the universities at the end of a draft-agreement signed in June 2006 to the Academy of Science.

For physics, mathematics and data processing, certain documents placed on HALL can also be automatically deposited on ArXiv. For sciences of life it is towards the base of PubMed Central that the articles are transferred. The software HALL, developed by the CCSD is in conformity with the protocol of the Open File Initiative (OAI-PMH).

the INRIA, the INSERM, the Pasteur Institute, the IRD, the CIRAD, the Cemagref etc have also their waiters of open files which are gates of HALL.

The CCSD proposes specific entries of HALL, like Thèses in Lines (SUCH), or like HAL-SHS dedicated to the Social sciences
