Hypanthe

In Botanical, a hypanthe (or hypanthium ) is the name given to the floral Réceptacle when this one is amalgamated with the base of the lower floral verticils (chalice, corolla and androcée) and takes the shape of a ballot box wrapping the ovaries.

One finds it at all the species of the family of the Rosaceae . In the case of the kind Rosa (the Rosier S), it is so deep, with a so narrow opening at its top, which it resembles an ovary infère (the ovary at the Rosoideae , which is formed many Carpelle S, is actually supère.
