Hylton jack
The group of Jack Hylton was famous in all Europe at the time of the interval wars. The imagination of the musicians (although less unslung than that of the German Comedian harmonists), the rate/rhythm of the songs (many foxtrots ) and their inventiveness, like their very many rounds on the continent, were there for much. Vast musical production of the group, in spite of its ceaseless rehandlings, too.
Rare are, or rather were, the European attics not having in their piles of 78 turns some discs of Hylton Jack. Unfortunately, while the recordings of “noble” jazz or even of varieties inspired of the jazz, like works of Glenn Miller, were piously collected in compilations, much of works of Hylton Jack were lost in nature, broken during the removal of elderly deceased. Some successes, like Stormy weather or Try have little tenderness nevertheless survived.
Some admirors not wanting that this inheritance is lost try to save what can the being and to put it, with the agreement of the have-rights, on line free on the Net. The address of the site is given at the end of the article as curiosity.
In addition to Stormy weather , one will be able to appreciate there Button up your overcoat . Other famous titles like Bogey Wail or Sarita to date were alas not found in an acceptable state of conservation, the metal needles seriously using the 78 turns after a few hundreds of passages.
