Hydrophiidae
The hydrophiidés ( Hydrophiidae ) form a family which gathers various Espèce S known under the name of Serpent S sailors, who attend warm water of the the Indo-Pacific. Locally, these animals can be abundant, but they remain generally ignored. Indeed, these species with the very specific lifestyle are practically not high in captivity, and them very powerful Venin (exceeding that of the Cobra) dissuades the near total from the observers in their natural environment.
Description
The species which compose this family in fact are more or less adapted to the aquatic life. Their body and their tail are flattened, in order to be able to swim with ease, the made-to-order of eels.
The kind Laticauda , which includes/understands the Alarming specter ringed Laticauda colubrina is partially terrestrial, stationing regularly with ground, on the beaches where the females also come to lay (but the Accouplement takes place in water). The kind Pelamis , which includes the Sea-snake black and yellow or Pélamide ( Pelamis platurus ) is adapted much more to the sea life, with a mode of reproduction Ovovivipare, the female putting at the world its small at sea. If ovoviviparity is not rare in the snakes, it is exceptional in the marine reptiles (one can note that it is unknown in the turtles for example). The adaptation to the seamen circle is thus very thorough at this kind.
All the species have a very powerful Venin, but some are not very aggressive, at least in certain situations (it is the case of the species of the kind Laticauda when they are with ground).
