Hydrocharis
Small plant floating in calm water, generally at the edge of the rivers. Completely glabrous. Along the Stolon S develop tufts of Feuille S. the root S, floating between two water or slightly hidden in a movable substrate, are equipped with long hairs. The sheets are réniformes or cordiformes. They are of color clear green to bronze. Their Pétiole is very long. They are whole sheets evoking of small Nénuphar S. The Fleur S are unisexuées, to three Pétale S white with a small yellow spot at the base. The male flowers, with 12 cheesecloth S, can be alone or gathered up to 4 into small Inflorescence S. the female flowers, to 6 style S ramified into 2, are solitary.
The most widespread species is Hydrocharis morsus-ranae (Hydrocharis of frogs)
