Hydrae alpha
Alpha Hydrae (α Hya/α Hydrae) is the most brilliant star of the Constellation of the Hydre. It is also called by its traditional name Alphard . It is a giant orange.
Its name comes from the Arab Al Make-up , which wants to say “it solitary”.
