Hyacinthe Paoli

Hyacinthe Paoli (Giacinto Paoli in Italian Language) is a Corsica politician , born in 1681 with Morosaglia (current Haute-Corse), in a Corsica then under control génois.
In 1733, it is essential among the Corsicans revolted against Genoa to take the head of the insurrection.
With Giafferi, it develops institutional rules and an autonomous outline of administration is set up. Rejoined with Theodore de Neuhoff (1736), it continues the fight after the failure of this last against the French ordered by Maillebois.
Overcome in 1739, it takes refuge with Naples with his son junior, Pascal Paoli. It continues there a career of colonel in the Neapolitan army with the Corsica Regiment, for the service of the King de Naples Charles VII. He dies in December 1763.
