Hussein Dey

Hussein Dey is a commune of the Wilaya of Algiers, it belongs to the suburbs close to Algiers-Center. It faces bay of Algiers.

Geography

The commune of Hussein Dey is delimited in the east by the highway link of the caroubier, in north by the sea, the west by the way of shot which separates it from the commune of Belouizdad ex-Belcourt and in the south by the communes of El Magharia and Kouba.

History

  • Until 1984 and the creation of the communes of El Magharia, Bourouba and Bachdjarrah, Hussein Dey extended on 1400 hectares and counted more than 100.000 inhabitants.

Town planning

The heart of Hussein-Dey is located at the south of the street of Tripoli, ex street of Constantine, which crosses it of Is in West.

In the south, on the heights one finds the Cité Amirouche , the Cité Sea and Sun , the Cité Maya and the Cité Brossette . In the west one finds the district of the Abattoirs which was shaved, to leave room with the Subway and the Tram, like new administrative buildings and businesses.
