Hurleur

Hurleur ( Banshee ) is a character of Cartoon of the universe of the Comic S of Marvel. It appears for the first time in X-Men number 28 in 1967.

Origin

Sean Cassidy inherits an ancestral castle in Ireland and a small fortune. He Marie with Maeve Rourke, and works for Interpol. Whereas it is on mission for one long period, his wife learns that she is pregnant and puts at the world a named girl Theresa. Sean still did not return of mission and does not know that he is dad when Maeve dies in an attack in Northern Ireland. Black Tom, the cousin of Sean, collects the child and projects to raise it itself. When Cassidy returns, it is ploughed up to learn death from his wife and nobody teaches him the existence from his daughter.

Free Cassidy Interpol. Changeling discovers its existence via the group Factor Three . It invites it to join the Organization. When he learns the objectives from this group, Cassidy refuses. It is then captured and one poses a stringcourse around the head containing to him of the explosives to force it to obey. It uses the name of Banshee in reference to the spirit of Irish mythology (in France, it is known under the name of Hurleur).

Cassidy is constrained to achieve criminal missions for Factor Three. At the time of the one of them, with New York, it becomes acquainted with a team of mutants named X-Men. The Professor Xavier, their mentor, uses his telepathic capacities to disarm the explosives and to withdraw the stringcourse of the head of Hurleur. This one helps X-Men then to fight the Organization which handles it.

Several years later ( Giant-Size X-Men number 1), Xavier proposes in Hurleur to join a second group of X-Men to carry help to the founding members of the team. He accepts and integrates thus the team of the mutants. Later, it falls in love with allied from Xavier, Doctor Moira MacTaggert. It leaves finally X-Men whereas it loses its capacities at the time of a battle particularly testing.

Cassidy learns finally the existence from his/her Theresa daughter. This one developed sonic capacities and uses the name of Siryn. She is under the cut of her adoptive father Black Tom Cassidy, who obliges it to follow it in his criminal activities. She ends up joining Sean after being beaten by X-Men.

During a time, Hurleur Co-directs with Emma Frost the school of the young mutants of Professor Xavier. He teaches with the mutants of Generation X how to control their capacities. Moira MacTaggert is then killed in an explosion which had with Mystique. Deeply upset by this unexpected death, it sinks in a depression which leads it to alcoholism, and disappears temporarily after dissolution from Generation X.

Cassidy creates the " X-Corps" , a group of adventurous mutants, opposed to X-Men by their discussed methods and also by some of the members resulting from the Brotherhood of the bad mutants. It proves that Hurleur allows the girl Cerveau to handle the spirits of the members of the Brotherhood so that it remain in the team. In fact, Mystique is of mêche with the young woman, with depend on Hurleur, and causes the revolt of the old bad mutants. Several members of the X-Body die in the battle and Mystique cut the throat of Hurleur before being stopped by X-Men.

Hurleur survives the attack and remains hospitalized. The exact state of its capacities remains unknown. Siryn, it, left to join a less committed group of mutants: the X-Corporation .

Lately, in the mini-series X-Men: Deadly Genesis , Hurleur tried to save a plane filled with innocent human against a mysterious enemy of the series. Hurleur will try to change the trajectory of the plane with its sonic capacity, but considering that he was not entirely cured, he rather struck the plane of full whip. In the following episode, Wolverine and Diablo found the lifeless body of Hurleur with the victims in crushing of the plane.

His/her Siryn daughter still does not believe in her death. She recalls that, in the past, several X-Men were believed died, but that actually, they reappeared or were brought back to the life.

Capacities

  • Hurleur was a mutant which had a voice out of the commun run. The sounds which it could produce made it possible him to steal, destroy the objects, to make people unconscious or as of putting them in fright.
