Hunter valley


The valley Hunter ( The Hunter Valley ) is an area of the News-Wales-of-South, approximately with 160km in the north of Sydney, in Australia.

The population of the area is of approximately: 700000 inhabitants whose majority live with Newcastle the main city of the area. There are however rather many city and villages in the valley.

The area is known for its vineyards and its mining industry.

The valley is traversed by the river of the same name. It is one of the principal rivers of Wales News of the South.

Economy

The area is one of the most famous wine-producing areas of Australia and produces as well red wines as white. One finds also breeding bovine both for milk the meat.

The economic main activity of the area remains all the same the mining industry of coal primarily directed towards export. Coal is transported by rail to Newcastle which is the largest coal wharf in the world. Part of coal is used locally in powerplants.

Tourism

The " Hunter Valley" is one of the principal tourist destinations of the Wales News of the South. The area of Pokolbin has a great number of viticultural properties, restaurants, shops, golf courses, farms of hosts. Other areas in the valley are also known for their wines. The upper part of the valley around Scone is one of the greatest cattle-rearing areas of horses in the world.

Cities

Newcastle, with the mouth of the Hunter river is more the big city of the area with, in its suburbs Lake Macquarie. The other important cities are Port Stephens, Maitland, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Singleton, Scone and Muswellbrook.
