Beings designed by genetic engineering pursue their similar, but also of other human “errors”.

The development of the history

In the present, supermen live among the human ones. Only known few privileged people, these " Ultra Sapiens" are a genetically different race, obliged to live recluse. They constitute an army of massive destruction alone, and must thus be constantly supervised in order to ensure the safety of planet. When one of these superhuman escapes any control, being likely to put in danger the fragile balance of the world, only the members of a group especially trained with this kind of mission are able to face him and to bring back it in the right way. They are Hunter Killers and Samantha Argent of it is their person in charge.

The young person Ellis Cole is initially tracked by the group, because it has in its genome of capital information. It is indeed the “catalog”. It copies, involuntarily, the capacities of other Ultra Sapiens, which makes it possible to flush out them and know the extent of their capacities. It on the other hand will choose to join the Hunter-Killer program to try to give a direction so that became its existence. But it does not make therefore confidence with the persons in charge of this program. Indeed, those eliminated his/her parents who wanted at no price (until trying to kill it!) that Ellis does not fall between the claws from Hunter Killers. Its survival depends only on its capacity to detect which is the goods and which are the malicious ones… And stains it will not be easy!

How was born the idea from Hunter Killer?

This series was born from the meeting of two authors. Marc Silvestri, after his passage on X-Men , wanted to reinvest himself artistically, but in a durable way, this time. Thus this one started to throw on paper the bases of what was going to become “Hunter Killer”. Silvestri, which admired the work of Waid Mark for a long time, contacted him for scénariser the series. When it presents its idea of history to Waid, this last includes/understands the concept immediately and starts to make its proposals. Little by little, the series grows rich, thanks to the cross ideas of the authors and the leading team.

One of the originalities of " Hunter-Killer" is that we can never be sure to 100% of " which is nice the " and " which is malicious the ". Mark Waid even says it him: " We also had to spare the surprise for the readers. To make so that they never know really which are the nice ones and the malicious ones in this history… To leave in the doubt. And to manage from there us also to doubt the real motivations of these characters-là".
