Hunald II
Hunald II (?? - 769) was a Duc of Aquitaine.
Biography
Wire of Waïfre and the cousin of this one, Adele of Gascogne, girl of Wolf II. Its origins however are disputed. Some support that it is about Hunald I {{er}}, whereas for others it is about another person nonrelated to the dynasty of Gascogne.His/her father is assassinated in 768. Hunald II thus becomes duke of Aquitaine; his/her Loup grandfather replaces Waïfre as a duke of Gascogne.
He continues the policy of his father by being opposed to the King Francs, Pépin the Brief. The young person wire of Pip, Carloman Ier, will overcome it the same year, distributing the kingdom of Aquitaine between him and his brother Charlemagne: Carloman will take the Western part and Charlemagne, the Eastern one.
Hunald takes refuge in Gascogne with his/her grandfather, Loup, which was him also attacked by Charlemagne. Hunald and his wife are put under the authority of Charlemagne, and his/her grandfather is declared Vassal this one.
There is no exact information on its death. He did not have any heir.
