Humphrey Bogart
Humphrey DeForest Bogart (born the December 25th 1899 with New York and deceased the January 14th 1957 with Los Angeles) was an American actor .
Called “Bogey” or “Bogie” by its public, it remains today one of the undeniable myths of the history of the cinema. In 1951, he was prize winner of the Oscar of the best actor for his role in the Odyssey of African Queen . In 1999, it was classified Greatest Male Star off All Time (literally Plus large star male of all times ) by the American Film Institute. And Casablanca , in which he plays the main role, is regularly quoted among five best films of the history of the cinema.
Life
Birth and childhood
Humphrey DeForest Bogart is born the December 25th 1899 with New York. His/her father, Dr. Belmont DeForest Bogart, is a surgeon of confession presbytérienne and republican tendency . His/her mother, Maud Humphrey, are a dessinatrice of confession épiscopalienne and tendency tory. Humphrey Bogart was high épiscopalien; it is mainly of British origin Dutchwoman and , but also has Spanish blood . It has in particular as an ancestor the king Edouard III of England and his wife Philippe de Hainaut, which makes of him a descendant of many medieval monarchs. He is also cousin with the seventh degree of Diana, Princesse of WalesResulting from an easy medium, Bogart live in an apartment of the Upper West Side, and have a cottage at the edge of the lake Canandaigua, not far from the Lake Ontario. Whereas Belmont Bogart takes drugs with morphine, his Maud wife is alcoholic; both fight continuously. Thus, Humphrey Bogart is mainly high by an Irish nurse .
Education and beginnings
Humphrey Bogart attends initially the Trinity School of New York, then the Philips Academy of Andover. Very early, his/her father encourages it to become doctor. Belmont and Maud Humphrey wish that their son enter to Université Yale, but it is excluded from Philips Academy because of disciplinary problems, and prefers to join the Navy. During the First World War, it is wounded with the lip, which will leave him its famous scar.It starts to play on a scene of Brooklyn in 1921, without never to have taken lesson of comedy. Between 1925 and 1935, it appears in twenty-and-a productions of Broadway. It is then selected to play in the petrified Forest with the theater, role which it will take again with the cinema and which will make it famous.
Marriages and children
Humphrey Bogart Marie with Helen Menken the May 20th 1926 with New York, and the November 18th 1927 divorces it. He marries in second weddings Mary Philips the April 3rd 1928 with Hartford, but both divorce the June 21st 1937. Then, it Marie with Mayo Methot the August 21st 1938 with Los Angeles, and the May 10th 1945 divorces it. Lastly, he marries Lauren Bacall the May 21st 1945 with Cleveland. It was its single happy marriage. They remained married until the death of Bogart and had two children: Stephen Humphrey Bogart , born the January 6th 1949 and become writer, and Leslie Howard Bogart , born the August 23rd 1952 and become nurse.
Disease and death
Humphrey Bogart falls ill in the middle of the years 1950. Reached of a cancer of the esophagus, he refuses to consult a doctor before January 1956, but he was already too late. He dies the January 14th 1957 with Hollywood. Its funeral takes place in Episcopal All Saints Church. Its ashes are buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Glendale. On the tomb a famous sentence of its first film with Lauren Bacall is written: “ Yew you want anything, just whistle ”. It has a star on the Hollywood Walk off Famed, to the 6322 Hollywood Boulevard.
Career

Tirez on the pianist from François Truffaut is also a homage to Bogart. The large Indian actor Ashok KUMAR quoted Bogart as that which had the greatest influence on its play of actor.
