Human sexual Behavior

The physical aspect of the human sexual behavior is the component of the human Sexualité which of described the physical intimacy; its goal can be the reproduction (implying a Sexual relation), the discovery of the body of the other or simply the research of the sexual Plaisir.

This article concentrates on the physical-activity. The social and psychological sights are covered in other articles such as the Hétérosexualité, the Homosexualité as well as the Bisexualité.

Sexuality and sensuality

There is no limit clearly defined between the sexual pleasure and the not-sexual pleasure caused by the contact of the body of someone else. For example, the fact of holding with the hands can have or not a sexual connotation, according to the culture, the situation and other factors. There are however actions which is generally defined like sexual, but which can have other connotations according to the circumstances. The distinction between the sexual and not-sexual behavior can be interpreted starting from local social rules, but also of one individual to the other and at the same individual, according to the moment.

Some criteria which can be applied are:

  • parts of the body implied (see also the Genitals)
  • physical signs of the sexual awakening
  • a subjective Feeling

The whole of the sexual activities of a person (the erotic dreams, the Phantasm S, the Masturbation, and reports/ratios shared) is called her sexual life .

Desire and phantasm

The Sexual desire or the Libido is the desire for the sexual behavior. The majority of the people focus their sexual desire on the person (S) with which they has sexual relationships, or with whom they would wish to have some. See also the sexual awakening, and the Sexual orientation.

Many people take pleasure with Fantasme R , simply while being based on their imagination, or by reading books with sexual character, erotic magazines, even by viewing films. These phantasms are not inevitably carried out then. See Pornography and erotism.

Sexual relations

Like others Primate S, the Homo sapiens employ sexuality for the reproduction and the maintenance of the social links. It is generally recognized that the children are able to feel a sexual pleasure, even if they cannot engage yet in sexual relations with someone else, and/or cannot yet biologically reproduce. However, the sexuality of a child severely was historically condemned in the Western companies; towards the end of the 19th century, the collective Hystérie around the Masturbation of the children influenced the adoption of the Circoncision and/or the Excision in certain cultures, and it is still a largely widespread practice (circumcision in the United States, excision in certain countries of Africa).

As with other behaviors, our high intelligence and our complex companies in us sexual behaviors much more complicated caused than those of any animal. The majority of the people experienced a certain number of various sexual activities during their life, although in practice they practice regularly only some of these last. The majority of the people appreciate some sexual activities. However, the majority of the companies defined certain sexual activities as inadequate. Some appreciate much to have various sexual activities, whereas contrary to others these activities for religious or different reasons avoid (see the Chasteté, the Sexual abstinence, the Asexualité). Historically, the majority of the companies and the religions looked at the sex as only adapted at the time of a marital relation. There is still a popular belief which claims that the sex acts are devaluated when they are carried out apart from a Love affair in the long run and monogamist. But the sexual activity apart from the marriage and the occasional sex became increasingly allowed and current in the modern society, in particular since the sexual Révolution.

Standards and rules

The sexual behavior, like other kinds of social activity, is generally governed by rules or habits which can change radically according to the local culture (see the sexual Moralité, the sexual standards).

The majority of the countries condemn the sexual assaults, the Inceste, and the Viol, as well as the sex with minors, but also the Exhibitionnisme (Atteinte with decency), as well as the Prostitution (remunerated sexual activities). |date=

Almost all the cultures regard as being a Crime to force somebody to begin in a sexual relationship or to begin in a sexual relationship with somebody who is not agreeing. This is called a Sexual assault, which can be a Sexual touching, or in the case of the pénétratifs reports/ratios that is called a Viol. The details on this term can be different according to the country and of its culture. Moreover, precisely with regard to the real assent to engage a sexual relationship, this one changes according to the culture. The legislation defines what constitutes an assent, and includes the age of assent, the minimum age to which a person can agree to have a sexual relation. In France, the age is fixed at 15 years, whatever its sexuality; in Swiss Belgium and , it is fixed at 16 years - in lower part of this age, there is Sexual abuse on minor or Sexual offense on minor.

Some practical sexual, like the Sodomy, are illegal today in certain countries (in particular in Africa and in Moslem countries, but also in certain state of the United States of America) even between agreeing adults. In addition, the manufacture and the visionnage of the pornography are often controlled by laws.

Human fluids and birth control

All the sexual behaviors which imply a contact of the Sperme with the Vagin or the Vulve can generate a Grossesse. To prevent that, much people use various techniques of Contraception.

All the sexual behaviors which imply the contact with another person or the seminal Liquide of another person cause a certain transmission risk of sexually transmitted diseases. This is why, of the surer sexual practices are recommended. These practices are generally perceived as less necessary for those which have relations monogamists carried out with the people who proved than they were not carrying diseases.

Sexual practices between various kinds

The sexual practices between various kinds are sexual activities between two individuals (or more) of more than one kind, usually between a man and a woman. People who engage exclusively in the sexual practices between various kinds necessarily do not identify as an heterosexual, although (with the difference of homosexual for sexual practices between same kind) the majority of the definitions of “heterosexual” include them in spite of the variable levels of the activity, the frequency, and the interest. Many situations, like the establishment school, and of the cultural factors, such as polarization and persecution anti-gays, the heterosexism and heteronormativity , can force or encourage people who usually would not have had sexual relations with people of a different kind to make thus, but once those leave this environment, they return logically to a sexual activity with a of the same person sex. In other situations, people can try out sexual activities of different kind (and/or of the same kind), before finding their own identity sexual.

Often associated wrongly only with the gay men, the anal sex is a largely practiced sexual practice, whether it is between different kinds or between same kinds. The Anus is “tighter” than the vagina, and can be thus preferable with the man during the penetration; moreover much of people have pleasure to make fun of the cultural sexual taboos.

The sexual practices can be monogamist S, or Polygame S, and according to the definition of the sexual practice, abstemious or car-erotic (Masturbation including).

Sexual practices between same kinds

The sexual practices between same kind are sexual activities making take part two individuals (or more) same sexual kind. These practices are generally homosexual.

In spite of the stereotypes and commonly widespread false ideas, there is no form of sexual activity exclusively reserved for the sexual behavior of the same kind and which cannot also be found in the behavior heterosexual, even those which consitent to put in contact genitals of the same sex (like the tribadism , the frot ).

Certain situations, like the Imprisonment or of the schools unisexe (school for boys, school for young girls) and other environments where each sex is isolated one from the other, can often lead to the homosexuality of the people who, in a normal context, would not seek a sexual relationship with other people of their own kind.

In other cases, certain people can try out or explore their sexuality at the time of sexual activities with a person of the same kind (and/or a different kind), before succeeding in defining their own sexual identity.

People who exclusively engage in sexual practices of the same sex necessarily do not identify like “gay S” or “Lesbienne S”, and the various definitions of the Homosexualité can include or exclude from the people who have variable levels of activity, frequency, or interest.

Legislation

Several forms of homosexual activities are prohibited in several areas of the world, and at various times of the history. In 2003, the decision of the Supreme court relative to Lawrence v. Texas reversed all these laws in the United States.

Usually, and mainly with the the United States, such laws name laws on sodomy, but include also a legislation on the age of assent, the laws of “decency”, and so on. The laws prohibiting homosexuality changed considerably through the history, evolving/moving according to the culture, of the taboos and the religious and social habits, etc

Such laws are often aimed or applied differently according to the kind, and are thus clearly discriminatory. For example, in England during the reign of the Queen Victoria, of the laws against the homosexual behavior, and the Sodomie aimed the male homosexual activity specifically, and did not approach the female homosexual activity.
