Human Zoo

The term of human zoo describes a cultural attitude which prevailed in the colonial Empire S until the Second world war. It was popularized by the publication in 2002 of the work human Zoos , written by several Historiens French specialists in the colonial phenomenon.

The colonial exposures were the occasion to present to the public of the metropolis a sample of the various colonized people put in situation forced in a reconstituted environment.
