Hugues Ier of Burgundy

Hugues Ier of Burgundy (born in 1057 - died the August 29th 1093 with Cluny) was a prince of royal blood French, wire of Henri of Burgundy and Sybille of Burgundy, and thus great-grandson of the King de France Robert II '' the Piles '', which was ''' duke of Burgundy ''' of 1076 with 1079, then abbot of Cluny, until its death in 1093. He was still child with died of his father and his/her large father Robert Ier the Old man designated it as his successor. With died of Robert, he claimed the succession with as well firmness as its vassal joined together with Dijon proclaimed it duke.

He married in 1075 Sibylle of Nevers (1058 - † 1078), girl of Guillaume Ier, count de Nevers.

The chronicles praise its justice and its firmness towards the vassal disobedient ones. He helped the king d' Aragon to fight the Moors. With died of his wife, he abdicated in favor of his brother Eudes Ier '' Borrel '' to become Prieur of the Abbaye of Cluny.
