Hugues III of Burgundy
Hugues III , born in 1148, died in Tyr the August 25th 1192, duke of Burgundy of 1162 with 1192, wire of Eudes II, duke of Burgundy, and Marie of Blois.
It reigned initially under the supervision of his mother, then released itself some. It fought the count de Châlons in 1166, helped by Louis VII of France. In 1171, Hugues left, with the count Etienne Ier de Sancerre, to fight in Holy Land. Of return in France, he fought against the count de Nevers (1174), then against the lord of Vergy which refused the homage to him.
After the fall of Jerusalem, it engaged in the Third crusade, took part in the battle of Ascalon and the catch of Acre. Philippe II Auguste, when it returned to France, entrusted the command of the French detachment to him. It fights at the side of Richard Lion-hearted and dies in Tyr.

He had married in first weddings in 1165 Alix of Lorraine (1145 † 1200), girl of Matthieu Ier, duke of Lorraine, and Judith de Hohenstaufen, so called Berthe (1123-1195), and had had:
- Eudes III (1166 † 1218), duke of Burgundy
- Alexandre (1170 † 1205), lord of Montagu, author of the Soft branch of the lords of Montagu
- (1175 † a. 1219), married in 1196 with Simon of Semur († 1219) lord of Luzy
- Alix (1177 †), married to Béraud VII, lord of Mercoeur
He repudiated Alix in 1183 and remaria the same year with Béatrice d' Albon (1161 † 1228), dauphine of the Viennese, girl of Guigues V of Albon, dolphin of the Viennese and Beatrice de Montferrat and had:
- Andre Guigues VI (1184 † 1237), dolphin of the Viennese
- Mahaut (1190 † 1242), married in 1214 with Jean Ier (1190 † 1267), count de Châlon and of Auxonne
- Anne (1192 † 1243), married in 1222 with Amédée IV (1197 † 1253), count de Savoie
