Hugues Aycelin Montaigut
Hugues Aycelin de Montaigut is the son of Pierre Aycelin de Montaigut and of NR Floats
It is a Dominicain, Doctor of Divinity known under the name of Hugues de Billom. He was prefect with the convent St Jacques in Paris (1282-1284). He taught then in Italy and in 1287 was with the monastery Sainte Sabine of Rome which selected with had died of Honore IV for the council of the election of the new pope.
It was named cardinal of the church Holy-Sabine by Nicolas IV (1288-1292) and Master of crowned palate. August 12th, 1294, as senior of crowned college, he crowned bishop Célestin V before his establishment like pontiff. He was then named cardinal-bishop of Ostie and Velitre.
He died on December 28th, 1297 and was buried in front of the furnace bridge of the vault of Holy Sabine.
