Hugo Naude

Pieter Hugo Naude (1869 - 1941) is a South-African painter resulting from communautée the afrikaner.

Pieter Hugo Naude was born in 1869 with Worcester in the Colonie from the Cape.

In 1889, it unloads in England to make studies there. Endowed in painting, it meets in the British capital Olive Schreiner which supports it in its artistic step and presents it to Havelock Ellis which facilitates to him the entry at the school of arts of London.

After its studies, he works a time in Italy before returning to South Africa in 1896 where he puts in painting the family farm. He travels then through all the country until the Chutes Victoria in Southern Rhodesia.

In 1902, it joined the South-African company of the artists thanks to whom it can present its works through exposures of painting.

Of 1904 with 1913, it settles in Worcester where it arranges a studio of painting (today Hugo Naude Art Centers). It goes back then to London then to Munich to supplement its graphic knowledge there.

In 1915, it marries Julia Brown and in 1917 its paintings are included in a publication devoted to the South-African landscapes and are published by a publisher devoted to art in the British Empire.

Implied in the local life of Worcester, it is also interested in the Scoutisme to which it adheres. With its death, it bequeaths its artistic work to the town of Worcester.
