Hugh Dowding
Hugh Caswall Tremenheere Dowding is a British officer, who took part in the two world wars. He was the chief of the Fighter Command during the Bataille of England.
Youth
Hugh Dowding was born on April 24th 1882 with Moffat in Scotland where it will pass its youth. He moves with has family in 1897 in England, where he impassions himself for the beginnings of aviation. He studied with the Winchester College. Then it entered the Royal Military Academy, from where it leaves officer, then is useful in the Artillerie.
Military career
After having obtained its pilot's license in December 1913, Dowding joined the Royal Flying Corps (RFC). It is to send in France and in 1915, it is promoted chief of the 16th flotilla. After the Battle of the Sum, it is in conflict with the general Hugh Trenchard, ordering RFC, in connection with the need for granting to the pilots exténués by missions not-stop, a little rest. Private life
Sir Doding was widowed and had a son, Derek Dowding. In addition, it was mystical and adhered to the theosophic Société. He was vegetarians and believed in the extraterrestrial origin of the UFO.
