HuffYUV

HuffYUV (or Huffyuv ) is a video codec very fast Win32 and without loss of quality writes by Ben Rudiak-Gould and published under the terms of the license LPG. It was created to replace the format not compressed YCbCr for the video capture. Although this format is called Huffyuv, it is not compression YUV, but well YCbCr.

Without loss means that the exit of the relief cock is identical bit by bit with the original signal before compression. Indeed, no colorimetric conversion is carried out. The codec is fast since it is enough one second to convert 38 Mo on Celeron with 416 MHz. The algorithm of HuffYUV is similar to that of JPEG-LS without losses.

The last version of HuffYUV goes back to 2002.
