Huesca

Huesca ( Latin Osca in , Uesca in Aragonese) is a commune of Spain, capital of the province of the same name, in the autonomous Communauté of Aragon.

The city

The mayor in 2003 is member of the PSOE.

The city was conquered in 1096 per Pierre Ier d' Aragon.

The province sees the the Pyrenees starting. The area Aragon/Province of Huesca is frontier with the Navarre, the France, the Catalogne and the Aragonese Spanish province of Saragossa.

It contained the last zones to speak Aragonese ( fabla , which means language into Aragonese) in certain valleys about the Pyrenees (valley Aragon, Sobrarbe, Western Ribagorza). There exist also several zones of speaking Catalan in the fringe is (Eastern Ribagorza, Litera, Bajo Cinca Eastern).
