Hubert-Felix Thiéfaine

Hubert-Felix Thiéfaine , known as HFT, is a composer-songwriter and French singer born with Dole in the the Jura the July 21st 1948.
Biography
Although not very present in the great media, Hubert-Felix Thiéfaine was a relatively important success throughout its career: several of its discs were devoted discs of gold and its concerts regularly fill the tank thanks to fidelity and the attachment with its public. He is married in Francine Nicolas, which is also its manager within their company, Lilith Productions, and with which he had two boys, Hugo and Lucas.The family of Thiéfaine is originating in the village of Sampans, in the the Jura (his/her uncle was cleaned there), but lived in Dole. Wire of a family of six children (it will make a song for his parents entitled When Maurice meets Alice in the album Scandale melancholic person ), it passes his schooling in several establishments of the city as well public as private. In the same village the future guitarist Claude Mairet lives, whose career will be closely related to his. He spends four years to the small seminar for becoming priest, then is registered with studies of psychology to Besancon. It is on the campus of this same city that it will meet Tony Carbonare, future collaborator as a musician, arranger and manager.
It is with him that it will try its chance to Paris in 1971. After very difficult years, at the request of Tony Carbonare, he works with the group Machin and carries out its first album, Any alive body connected on the sector being called to be moved before, made up of written pieces ten years. Collaboration with the Thing group and Tony Carbonare are born on the whole three albums in which the texts of Thiéfaine are raised by arrangements baroques of Tony Carbonare. As from 1980, Thiéfaine directs towards a style more Rock: let us quote the album Sun seeks future which was a certain success with the song " Lorelei sebasto cha" in 1982 and Still/Left southern , cosigné with Claude Mairet with the musical writing. In 1988, it breaks with Claude Mairet and his Sterne recording company, and records two albums in the United States ( Chroniques bluesymentales in 1990 and Fragments of hébétude in 1993). Since the album-mirrors the Temptation of Happiness (1996) and the Happiness of Temptation (1998), its music, readily melancholic person, opens with the tablecloths synthetizers. In 1998, it fills the room with Bercy without any support of the media. The concert will be the subject of an album and a DVD.
Its album Scandal melancholic person , left in 2005, bears its name well. It readily referred there to a past sometimes happy, sometimes difficult, with a dubious future, or with its sources of inspiration ( Play of the Madness ). The piece Telegram 2003 , as for him, is a message of support with Bertrand Cantat. On this album, Thiéfaine chose to collaborate with new musicians, of which Matthieu Rabaté (beater) and Philippe Paradis (guitarist), both musicians of Zazie. He is the author of all the texts except one ( That Angry Man one the Pier ), and left the care to the young generation of French composer-songwriters (with the number of which one can quote Cali or Mickey 3D) to compose the musics. An album live (accompanied by a DVD) recorded at the time of the concert to the Zenith of Paris on November 17th, 2006 entitled Scandale melancholic person turn was also put on sale.
Hubert is solicited in 2007 to compose of the songs for the last opus blues of Johnny, just as Paul Personne for musics, the whole not being finally retained. This material will be the base of the album Amicalement Blues , recorded with Studio ICP in Brussels, which leaves on November 12th, 2007.

Its song the most known, the Girl of the cutter of joints , figure on its first album, it treats, under a festive aspect, consumption of Cannabis. sharp skinned Singer-poet, always evolving/moving with the margins of the language (in its zone with him), it draws his inspiration from writers like Rimbaud, Baudelaire or Lautréamont which it quotes in his texts. The " psychoanalysis of the monkey " really do not rise from a truculent humor. What one calls the " monkey " in fact a metaphor is to indicate the attachment with the " héroïne" (or another drug creating an important dependence). To read " The feast nu" of William Burroughs . The " monkey " clutch yourself with your nape of the neck and does not release it any more… The " psychoanalysis of the monkey " is thus a homage to this American author of happy the generation, and a descent into Hell in the hallucinated world of drug. " Psychoanalysis of the monkey " is rather representative of the book of Burroughs. Hubert-Felix Thiéfaine does not find only his influences in French poetry, the authors of happy the generation form a big part of this " influence".
The majority of its texts are odes with the life, or at least, with the manner of approaching it, and death. Between these two extremes, one meets the praise of the madness, the literature, drug, and despite everything, of mankind… Hubert Felix Thiéfaine is an author interprets impossible to circumvent our time. He knew to put in music, only or accompanied, his own works, true one removed from rim and painful era representations. Hubert Felix-Thiéfaine is, following the example Arthur Rimbaud, of Carl Gustav Jung or of Léo Ferré, the unrepentant translator of the major discomfort of our millenium. Bonds with Shoed Léo
Difficult to write on HFT without quoting the name of Léo Shoed, because a particular bond linked them, certainly the complicity which they could share for the words and turnings that one can make them take. Léo Shoed whose Hubert-Felix likes to recall how one evening of July, at the time of a concert in Francofolies, this one had come to tap to him on the shoulder after HFT had taken again one of its songs. The resumption of the song loneliness very belongs to the great moments of the round of 1994.
