Hoyt S. Vandenberg
the general Hoyt Sanford Vanderberg , originating in Milwaukee, (January 24th 1899 - April 2nd 1954), is the nephew of the senator Arthur Vanderberg.
In 1923, graduate of the Military academy of the United States, it is affected in USAAF.
During the Second world war, he is chief of the military information then succeeds in 1946 the admiral Sidney W. Souers the station of Director off Central Intelligence . L
E DCI was director of the the CIA, chief of the “Community Intelligence”, and principal adviser of the president as regards information. Director of the OEP (“Office off Emergency Planning”, Office of the emergency plans), the DCI sat in fact to the National Intelligence Authority , made up representatives of the president, “Navy” and secretary, Secretaries of State to Defense, by an executive order.
Within the Central Intelligence Group , ex- OSS and which were going to become the CIA, Vanderberg gets busy to give to this service its modern importance and its characteristics. In April 1947, he becomes chief of the staff of USAF, station which he will occupy until 1953.
