Howard Shore

Howard Leslie Shore (born the October 18th 1946 with Toronto) is a type-setter of Film music, leader, orchestrator and Canadian saxophonist.

Howard Shore studies off the composition with John Bavicci in Berklee College Music of Boston in 1969 and, later, it Co-founds the group Lighthouse rock'n'roll, composed of Skip Prokop, Paul Hoffert, Ralph Cole, Bob McBride, Larry Smith and itself. In the group, Shore plays of the alto saxophone and of the flute and it also composes of the songs. From 1969 to 1972, Shore records with Lighthouse. Being member of the group, Shore also works for the radio and composes of the music for television programs of the SRC. With an small group of friends, including Lorne Michaels, it creates the television program Saturday Night Live. From 1975 to 1980, Shore is musical director, under the authority of Michaels, the first five seasons of the emission. It composes the song topic of the emission and plays the saxophone there. The constraints of a weekly emission lead it to compose very quickly of the music of various kinds. Shore is thus prepared to work for all the kinds of film.

In 2002, it received the Oscar of the best film music for the first shutter of the Seigneur of the Rings ( the Lord of the Rings: The Community of the Ring ) then again in 2004 for the third shutter ( the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ).

The twelve hours of music made up for the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings , in the long versions, were adapted and rearranged by Howard Shore for The Lord off the Rings: Symphony in six movements , one duration symphony of approximately two hours, played at the time of a world tour in 2004, including in particular representations with London and Sydney.

In December 2005, entirety of the original music made up for the Lord of the Rings ( the Lord of the Rings: The Community of the Ring ) appears for the very first time. The box entitled " The Lord off the Boxing rings - The Supplements Recordings - The Fellowship off the Ring" includes/understands 3 CD and 1 DVD (this last taking again the contents of 3 CD in quality Dolby DIGITAL 5.1).
